Szczegóły wydarzenia:

Anti Lillak will focus on the ethnogenesis of the Estonians and research it from the viewpoints of archaeology, linguistics, and archaeogenetics. He will also introduce the Setos, a Baltic-Finnic people very close to the Estonians, and discuss the development of Seto folk culture.

Anna Venchakova will talk about the Finno-Ugric community in Estonia, addressing who they are and how they are integrated into Estonian society. Through her personal experiences, she will explain how the cooperation among kindred peoples has aided in the preservation and development of their cultural heritage and identity.

Bogáta Timár will discuss Hungarian-Estonian relations. As linguistically related nations, the two countries hold each other in special regard, a relationship that has persisted for hundreds of years. Timár will explain how this relationship manifests and perseveres despite the ever-changing political trends.

At 15:00, there will be a concert-workshop following the lectures. Anna, Anti, and Bogáta will perform songs in various Finno-Ugric languages, explaining the meanings and backgrounds of the songs. Participants will have the opportunity to try some simple songs and popular folk dances.
